Located in Wadebridge, Cornwall, Red Media Design was created by Dirk Smith and Austin Gardner in September 2005.

Dirk Smith

Originally from London, Dirk has worked in various roles in the new media industry since 1997, including senior positions with advertising agencies Hyro (Asia / Australia / New Zealand) and Grey WorldWide (Thailand).

He has developed interactive projects and campaigns for clients including the UK Food Standards Agency, Nokia, Hilton Hotels, Allianz and Pernod Ricard.

Austin Gardner

Commencing his professional life as a Civil Engineer, Austin landed in Hong Kong in the early 1990s, working as a design engineer on one of the largest suspension bridges in the world, the Tsing Ma Bridge.

During this time, he developed 3D visualisation and interactive design skills, and went on to run a company offering full interactive marketing services to the property sector, servicing clients including Ogilvy & Mather and J Walter Thomson.

On returning to the UK, Austin took a senior position with one of UK's leading investment brokers, Hargreaves Lansdown, creating an award winning online brand, and project managing e-marketing campaigns for IPO's, including Orange and William Hill.
